Adaptive activities: getting outside, staying active, and connecting, even in winter.
We wanted to share this inspiring initiative highlighted by Le CAPVISH, in collaboration with the Arlphat – Ass. de loisirs pour personnes handicapées de l’A-T.
In Val-d’Or, people with intellectual or physical disabilities came together to enjoy adapted outdoor activities such as ice fishing, hockey, games, and shared moments. A day focused on movement, enjoyment, and connection.
On that day, a creative use was also found for the Access Trax mats, which were turned into a giant tic-tac-toe game, adding a fun element to the activities.
As reported by Radio-Canada, initiatives like this play a key role in promoting inclusion and encouraging participation year-round.
Kudos to the organizations and partners involved for their on-the-ground commitment.
